Managing QR codes

Understand your dynamic QR code details

Learn what the short URL, current destination, status, and QR preview represent on a saved dynamic QR code's detail page.

The short URL

A dynamic QR code contains the short URL shown on its detail page. It does not contain the final destination directly. When someone scans the code, the short URL routes the visitor through the redirect service and then sends them to the current destination.

Use the copy button beside Short URL when you need the same tracked link outside the QR image. Changing the destination does not change this URL or the printed QR code.

The current destination

The current destination is the fallback location for a successful scan. Smart-routing rules may send some visitors elsewhere, but the current destination remains the default.

Active and inactive codes

An active code can redirect visitors. An inactive code keeps its short URL and settings but does not forward scans until it is activated again. Use the detail-page actions menu to change its status.

The preview

The preview is the QR image for the saved short URL using the code's current design. Design changes alter its appearance, while destination and routing changes leave the QR pattern unchanged.
